(CNN) — Major League Baseball allegedly has cautioned its players who over-the-counter sex tablets may contain banned ingredients which would lead to failed performance enhancing drugs tests.
ESPN acquired a memo delivered by the league officer.
The memo states in part thatthe goods are usually contaminated with banned and unsafe ingredients, ESPN reported.
CNN asked the Major League Baseball Players Association and Major League Baseball . The team said it does not make public memos to clubs.
The usage of sexual efficiency enhancement tablets located at convenience stores — is more prevalent among baseball players, ESPN reported citing unnamed sources.
The US Food and Drug Administration has warned the public before about using enhancement products.
Donald D. Ashleydirector of the Office of Compliance in the FDAs Center for Drug Evaluation and Research, told CNN last year thatthat the FDA has been combating the retail sale of male enhancement drug products which are frequently misrepresented as dietary supplements and that contain hidden and potentially harmful active drug components.
